Life Insurance
Life insurance is not about you - it is about the mortgage that still gets paid, the tuition that still happens, and the family plans that stay on track. We make it simple and affordable. New to life insurance? See how life insurance works.
Term, permanent, or both - matched to your goals
Most families are surprised by how affordable meaningful coverage is. A healthy 35-year-old can often secure hundreds of thousands of dollars of term coverage for the cost of a streaming subscription or two.
- Term life - maximum protection per dollar during the years your family depends on your income.
- Permanent life - lifetime coverage with cash value, for estate planning and final expenses.
- Mortgage protection - coverage sized and timed to your loan.
- Key person & buy-sell - life insurance that protects a business, not just a household.
We quote multiple carriers, so health history, hobbies, or budget rarely end the conversation - they just change which carrier fits best.
How much is enough?
A common starting point is 10 to 12 times annual income, adjusted for debts, childcare, and college goals. We run the numbers with you in minutes.
Through work is not enough
Employer coverage is usually 1 to 2 times salary and disappears when you change jobs. Personal coverage stays with you.
Lock in your health
Premiums are based on age and health at purchase. The best time to buy is almost always now - rates only go up from here.
Life insurance FAQs
Term vs. permanent - which should I choose?
Term covers a defined period (10 to 30 years) at the lowest cost and fits most income-protection needs. Permanent lasts your lifetime and builds cash value, at a higher premium. Many families use term for the big needs and a small permanent policy for final expenses.
Do I need a medical exam?
Not always. Many carriers now offer accelerated underwriting with no exam for qualified applicants. We will tell you which path gets you the best rate.
Can I get coverage with a health condition?
Usually yes. Different carriers underwrite conditions very differently, which is exactly why quoting multiple carriers matters. We find the market that treats your situation most favorably.
How fast can a life insurance policy actually start?
Accelerated underwriting can issue coverage for qualified applicants in days, sometimes the same week, with no medical exam. Fully underwritten policies take a few weeks but often price better at higher amounts. We pick the path based on your profile and urgency.
Can I own more than one life insurance policy?
Yes, and laddering several term policies of different lengths is a smart, common strategy: heavy coverage during the mortgage and kids years, less as obligations fall away, with lower total premium than one big policy.
What happens when my term policy ends?
Coverage stops or renews annually at much higher rates. Before that point you can convert to permanent coverage without new underwriting on most policies, which is a valuable option if your health has changed. We calendar conversion deadlines for clients.
Do smokers and vapers pay more, and can that change?
Yes, nicotine rates run two to three times higher. Quit, and after one to two years most carriers will re-rate you as a non-user. That re-rate is one of the easiest premium cuts in insurance, and we file it for clients.
Is employer life insurance enough?
Usually one to two times salary, which rarely matches a family's real needs, and it typically ends when the job does. Personal coverage you own is portable and properly sized. Keep the work coverage as a bonus, not the plan.
