Business Insurance in Colorado

From a single-truck contractor to a multi-location operation, we build commercial coverage around how your business actually works - with access to standard and specialty markets.

Coverage That Fits

Commercial coverage we place every day

One uncovered claim can undo years of work. We help Colorado business owners understand their real exposures and cover them at a price that respects the bottom line.

  • General liability - third-party injury and property damage claims, including premises and completed operations. Trades start at our contractor insurance page.
  • Commercial property - buildings, equipment, inventory, and tenant improvements, with accurate replacement cost valuations.
  • Business owners policies (BOP) - packaged property + liability for eligible small businesses.
  • Commercial auto - owned, hired, and non-owned vehicle exposure, up through box trucks and motor carriers.
  • Workers' compensation - required in Colorado for nearly all employers.
  • Habitational & lessor's risk - purpose-built programs for apartments, HOAs, and commercial property owners.
  • Cyber liability - breach response, funds transfer fraud, and downtime coverage most businesses now need.
  • Professional liability (E&O) - financial-harm coverage for firms paid for advice and services.
  • Restaurants & hospitality - property, liquor liability, and spoilage built for food service.

Specialty & surplus markets

Unusual operation? New venture? Claims history? We have wholesale and surplus-lines access for risks that standard carriers will not touch.

Accurate valuations

Underinsured buildings are the most common commercial coverage gap we see. We support replacement cost estimates with real documentation so a loss does not become a coinsurance penalty.

Certificates, fast

Need a certificate of insurance for a landlord, lender, or job? We turn certificates around quickly so paperwork never holds up your work.

Common Questions

Business insurance FAQs

What does a BOP cover and do I qualify?

A business owners policy bundles general liability and commercial property at a packaged price. Most small, lower-risk businesses qualify. If your operation is larger or higher-hazard, we build a monoline program instead.

Do I need workers' comp if I only have one employee?

In Colorado, almost certainly yes - the requirement applies to most employers with one or more employees, full or part time. Penalties for going without are steep. We can quote it alongside your other coverage.

I own the building and lease it out. What do I need?

That is lessor's risk - property coverage on the building plus general liability for your exposure as the landlord. It is one of our specialties: see our habitational insurance page for the full picture.

How much does general liability insurance cost for a small business in Colorado?

Most small, lower-risk businesses land in the range of several hundred to a couple thousand dollars per year, driven by industry, revenue, payroll, and limits. Quoting takes one conversation, and packaged business owners policies often beat monoline pricing.

What is the difference between general liability and professional liability?

General liability covers bodily injury and property damage. Professional liability (errors and omissions) covers financial harm from your advice or services. Consultants, agents, and service firms usually need both. Full picture on our professional liability page.

Do I need cyber insurance?

If you store customer data, take payments, or would lose money in a multi-day systems outage, you have cyber exposure. Small business cyber policies are inexpensive relative to breach response costs, and some clients' contracts now require it. Start at our cyber liability page.

A contract requires me to be added as additional insured. What does that mean?

It means your policy extends certain protections to the other party for claims arising from your work. It is a routine request that we handle with correct wording on a certificate, usually the same day you send us the contract.

Can my business insurance flex with seasonal revenue?

Yes. Policies are auditable or adjustable around actual revenue and payroll, and we set realistic estimates up front so the year-end audit is a non-event rather than a surprise bill.
